El Metro Transit Center to Serve as Emergency Warming Space During Winter Weather
LAREDO, TX — As temperatures across the region drop this week, El Metro Transit System is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and well-being of the Laredo community. On Monday, January 26, and Tuesday, January 27, the El Metro Transit Center will serve as a designated safe and warm space for riders and the general public.
Recognizing the risks posed by freezing conditions, El Metro is inviting anyone in need of relief from the cold to utilize the Transit Center Lobby. Whether individuals are waiting for their scheduled bus or simply seeking a temporary reprieve from the low temperatures, the facility will be accessible and heated.

- Dates: Monday, Jan. 26 & Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026
- Operating Hours: 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Our doors are open to ensure that everyone has a warm place to stay during this cold weather.
