(Laredo, TX May 1, 2017) During this 2017 the National Bike Month of May, El Metro reminds residents and visitors of the City of Laredo, that each transit bus is equipped with a three position bike rack. Most bikes can be easily mounted on to the bus thus allowing passengers to “bike” to the bus stop and to their final destination. May is National Bike Month as sponsored by the League of American Bicyclist and it is promoted in communities to show case the many benefits of bicycling; El Metro takes this opportunity to tag along and promote a more active lifestyle whereas people can bike and take advantage of Transit when reaching far away destinations.

This 2017 the Bike to Work Week will be observed from May 15 thru the 19 whereas the Bike to Work Day is set for Friday May 19. Whether you normally drive to work or commute with a friend to work, El Metro invites the public to make the National Bike Month as an opportunity to Bike to your bus stop and ride to your final destination. El Metro reminds the public to ride Transit For downtown visitors and employees that our Transit Center offers bike racks to secure bicycles; facilities are conveniently located 1301 Farragut Street right across of Jarvis Plaza.
