El Metro Administration is proud to announce the C1 Circulator Route Mines Road, which began operations this past July 19, 2019, at 7:00 am. This new service will enable Mines Road area residents, visitors and employees of the warehousing district to have better connectivity to other routes on the Northside of the city or those returning to the downtown area.
Working under the direction of City Council, El Metro’s Administration worked in implementing the circulator service without incurring on immediate capital expenses. The Circulator pilot program will alternate on areas of the City Of Laredo following El Metro (5) Year Transit Plan; said plan includes recommendations approved and adopted by both Metropolitan Planning Organization and the City Council. This study addresses recommendations for Industrial Park Circulator via a Mines Road Circulator and additional Hubs / Transfer Centers on both the North West and South East of the City of Laredo.
The C1 Circulator Route pilot program will operate weekdays from 7 am thru 7 pm. C1 Route connects to the following routes:
- Route 1 Santa Maria
- Route 4 Springfield
- Route 16 TAMIU/Casa Verde
“A walkable city requires mobility options that entice residents to end vehicle dependency,”
said Claudia San Miguel, El Metro’s General Manager “public transportation enables environmental enthusiasts and the public, in general, to engage in active transportation that incorporates walking to their nearest bus stop”.
