Our community has gone thru a challenging time in the past two years. The women and men who are El Metro have honored their commitment to continue to provide a safe and reliable transportation. We are extremely proud of this brave team and their dedication to this community. They are each providing the best part of themselves to ensure our community keeps moving.
El Metro has made every effort to keep our community safe, and have made every effort to provide passengers with as many of our expected amenities open as safely as possible. We will now open our transit lobby for passenger’s awaiting to board the bus. Lobby hours will now be Monday thru Sunday from 8am to 5pm and will be closed from 12am to 1pm for sanitizing purposes.
Temporary boarding lanes on Jarvis Plaza were being utilized while the threat of the virus was among us. Now we will be returning Routes 1 Santa Maria to Lane 1 and Route 3 Convent/McPherson to Lane 2. Route 17 Mines/Industrial Park will remain in the temporary boarding lane on Jarvis Plaza.
El Metro now offers a new addition of payment, which is the el Metro Ticketing app, which will allow bus riders to purchase tickets at any time on their smartphone. Serving as a contactless way to pay for bus fare and purchase passes. “Customers will now find it faster and easier to pay for fares,” said El Metro General Manager Robert J. Garza.
Bus passes are also available to be purchased in our lobby waiting area. We continue to offer to our passenger’s the traditional way of payment, which is exact fare.
